Snow is falling on the charming seaside town of White Cliff bay, where Christmas is magical and love is in the air . . .

Penny Meadows loves her cosy cottage with its stunning views over the town of White Cliff Bay and her job as an ice-carver, creating breathtaking sculptures. Yet her personal life seems frozen. When Henry and daughter Daisy arrive at the cottage to rent the annex, Penny is determined to make them feel welcome. But while Daisy is friendly, Henry seems guarded. As Penny gets to know Henry, she realises there is more to him than meets the eye. And the connection between them is too strong to ignore . . .
While the preparations for the ice sculpting competition and Christmas Eve ball are in full swing, will Penny be able to melt the ice and allow love into her heart? And will this finally be the perfect Christmas she’s been dreaming of?

***I would like to thank Netgalley and Bonnier Publishing for providing me with “Christmas at Lilac Cottage”, for my honest review***

This was a heartwarming Christmas read. Yes, you could tell what was going to happen in some parts. But if you read a lot of Romance Christmas reads they will become somewhat predictable. I still enjoyed it even with the back and forth third person point of views between characters.

Penny is determined to make Christmas grand for her new tenants. However, Henry is a big old humbug at times and blows hot then cold easily. You see from the start that they have chemistry but certain thing get in the way. The ups and downs in this story show a real aspect of the characters that I personally adore in stories. The whole story took place over just a couple weeks. But you can feel the emotions that they invest in each other. This story didn’t disappoint when staying that it is a romance to curl up by the fire and read.
